Amen sister.
What’s the point of all this schooling that we do unless we apply it? Without utilizing what we learn, it’s as though we never learned it. We’re no better off then the next guy who spent the last few years sitting on a couch. I think that’s why I’m starting to thoroughly enjoy research as nerdy as that may sound— putting to practice all these theories I’ve learned and manipulating it to solve present day problems in hopes of finding a better solution. It’s been a crap load of reading and hitting dead-ends with open-ended questions but it’s intriguing to know that we can be the first to pioneer into unknown territory.
… sort of like… (you know this was coming) the need for us “Christians” to finally put to pratice all the things we know. The “Bible knowledge” that has yet to become real to us. There’s too many of us, me included, who just sit and soak in everything … and that’s it. We just sit and reverence in it; sing our happy songs after we feel one glimpse of Him and ”fellowship” with one another. Somewhere along the way, we totally lost our purpose in learning anything in the first place. Dang it. Where are the Disciples? The ones who want to run through every wall and every room just to inch closer to His chamber. The ones who genuinely acknowledge Him in everything, all the time, because He is just that to them— Lord. The ones who will go to the uncomfortable places because they understand all that He desires is to draw children back to His arms. So, teach me to put to practice what I learn. And in those moments, I know You become to me, internally and personally, what I perceive You to be.
If you’re reading this an are a student, learn something you genuinely love and enjoy. Otherwise you’re just wasting your time because you’ll never feel compelled to apply what you spend hours slaving over.
If you’re reading this and call yourself Christian, learn about the one you genuinely love. Otherwise you’re just wasting your time because you’ll never feel compelled to put to practice the things you’ve been shown.
